JOSEPH BURK BUILDING LOTS

Joseph Burk{1835-1886} was a farmer in Ridley Park whose small farm ran the length of today's Morton Ave. although he sold his property to the Ridley Park Association in 1873, he won it back in a lawsuit in 1875. He began selling part of his farm as building lots in late 1881. His farmhouse later was purchased by Dr. Horace Taylor and became the first Taylor Hospital. It was torn down in the early 1970's.
