John Cochran{1825 1903} originally opened Norwood for development in the Spring of 1873. The first sale of lots was held on May 28, 1873 and was done by auction, a common way to sell land in the 1870's. Cochran also opened up Prospect Park for development in September of 1874. He over extended himself and sold both developments in 1880. Below is a list of original buyers in Norwood.
